Marah Benedict, a junior at New Richmond High in Wisconsin, won the girls 5-kilometer gold race in 19:32.9 at the 37th Roy Griak Invitational at Les Bolstad Golf Course in Falcon Heights, Minn. Benedict, who improved from taking eighth in the maroon race last season in 20:02.7, helped New Richmond place 17th as a team with 458 points.
